After a two-year break due to the pandemic, we brought back the paid scheme for the fourth time, running throughout the month of August. Isabel Wicks applied to build her understanding of the industry before starting her marketing degree.
Providing four weeks of training sessions, mentoring, and hands-on work, the programme offers a valuable first experience of the technology copywriting industry. As well as creating an opportunity for aspiring writers in Cornwall, the scheme benefits Radix’s own team, giving them a chance to develop mentoring skills through one-on-one training sessions.
Izzy will now go on to study Marketing Management at the University of Brighton, having achieved two distinction stars and one distinction in her Applied Science, Sport, and Health and Social BTECs.
She says: “The internship has been such a fantastic opportunity to gain a head start in marketing before starting my university degree. I’ve been able to develop so many new skills throughout the four weeks that’ll definitely come in handy in the future.”
Izzy was mentored by Copywriter and Content Lead Ben Clarke, who himself completed the Radix internship in 2018.
“Izzy was a perfect example of what we look for in an intern,” says Ben. “She’s put her best into every project we’ve given her, and she’s produced some incredibly impressive copy. She certainly has a bright marketing career ahead.”
After another successful internship, we hope to continue the programme again next year.
